What will my camper be doing while at camp?

At Camp Tanglewood, our ultimate goal is for your camper to escape from their daily lives and encounter Christ in a way they never have before. In addition, Camp Tanglewood also offers a long list of games and activities for your camper: basketball, volleyball, swimming, beach activities, water activities, octaball aka gaga ball, corn hole, disc golf, ping pong, pool, field games, canoeing, playground, fishing in our stocked lake, and more!

How can I contact my camper while they are at camp?

Camp Tanglewood takes the camp experience very seriously and strongly recommends to all groups that they do not allow cell phones (cell phone coverage is weak). With this recommendation, we also ask that the group leader be the direct contact between you and your camper. If you need to reach your student, please contact your group leader. In the case of an emergency or if you can not reach your leader, please call 601.953.9243 and we will connect you to the right person.

What happens if my camper needs emergency medical attention?

Tanglewood takes the safety of your camper very seriously by trying to eliminate the possibility of a medical emergency at all possible. The camp staff has basic first aid supplies, and AED American Defibrillators, which will only be given to the group leader if they are needed.

Also, our camp staff is CPR certified and prepared for emergencies. If there is an emergency outside of basic first aid, the group leader will be responsible for transporting your camper to the nearest hospital or by ambulance. Our staff will be there to assist in any way they are needed. The closest hospital is located 17 miles from Camp Tanglewood in Forest, MS (Lackey Memorial Hospital).
