Welcome to Tanglewood! Whether this is your first summer with us or you’ve been here for years, this page is designed to give you the big picture so you can plan well and arrive prepared.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

Lodging & Facilities

Our overnight capacity is 204 beds, or 216 guests if queen /king beds are shared.‍ Lodging will be assigned based on group size/ need.

On-Site Coordination

Our hosting team is here to anticipate your needs and make your summer camp an unforgettable one.

Dining Service

Our food service team provide delicious menus, and work to customize as dietary restrictions require.

Lifeguards

With lifeguard-certified staff, we work to create the safest water experience for your group. Our swimming capacity is 100 t0 maintain viligant eyes on the water.

Activities

With a variety of fun and exciting activities to offer, our staff can help facilitate whatever activities your group is hoping for!

A/V Equipment

Our worship facilities are equipped with sound board, PA, stage lights, screens, and some microphones.

Camp Store

Our camp store has all your favorite snacks and treats for a summer day, including a merch selection of hats, shirts and stickers! We can take cash or card.

  • Programming & Schedules

    We ask for your schedules a few weeks prior so we can best coordinate and prepare for your arrival.

  • Bedding & Pillows

    Please bring sheets/bedding (Twin XL or a sleeping bag) and your own pillow.

  • Speaker & Worship Leaders

  • Bath Linens & Toiletries

  • Camper Behavior Management

  • Nurse/Medication Management

  • Adult Supervision & Pastoral Care

    We recommend at least 1 adult/7 campers.

  • A/V Personnel or Instruments

    We do not provide computer for lyrics/speaker notes, instruments, or A/V personnel to run equipment.

Daily Camp Rhythm

We strive to create the best experience for every group on our campus. Remember, multiple groups may be on-site during your stay, so programming your event to accommodate our fixed meal and activity blocks helps everyone succeed.

MEAL TIMES

Meal times are served in 30-minute windows.

Arrival & Departure

3 PM CHECK IN

Clear arrival communication with your leaders and drivers is critical. PLEASE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON OUR WEBSITE OR SENT IN YOUR WELCOME EMAIL.

10 AM DEPARTURE

It is recommended to have bags out of rooms by breakfast to make for easy departures and allow our staff ample time for cleaning.

DIRECTIONS

All drivers, especially buses should follow directions found at camptanglewood.com/directions

Please only take exit 100 off I-20 to prevent anyone from getting stuck.

RULES OF THE WATER

  • Lifeguards & Life Jackets are required for anyone to be in or on the water (swimming, wading, kayaking, etc)

  • A maximum of 100 people can be in the lake at one time.

  • Storms: we must wait 30 minutes after hearing thunder before resuming lake activities. If afternoon storms are in the forecast, let’s chat and try to pivot to morning swim times.

  • No lake activities on arrival or departure days.

  • No throwing rocks into water.

  • No pushing or roughhousing on inflatables.

SWIM ACTIVITY SLOTS

We offer 2 time slots for swimming, but if weather requires, we can pivot to the morning.

  • 1:30pm-2:45pm

  • 3:00pm-4:15pm

Planning Your Details

  • We recommend a chaperone ratio of 1 adult/7 campers.

    Leaders are responsible for campers at all times, including:

    • Cabins & dorms

    • Transitions between activities

    • Free time & evenings

    Adequate supervision is essential for safety, flow, and a great experience for everyone on campus.

  • Worship and meeting spaces are scheduled in advance to coordinate the best needs of each group.

    We have added our worship center as an additional meeting space for this upcoming summer to help with balancing groups.

    If you are sharing an area, set up and tear down might be required for some items.

    NOTE: We provide sound board, PA, stage lights, screens, and some microphones. We do not provide computer for lyrics/speaker notes, instruments, or A/V personnel.

    • Each building has a set bed count and layout.

    • Summer 2026 capacity is 204 mattresses.
      If Queen & King beds are shared, capacity increases by 12 people to 216.

    • Quiet hours from 11pm to 7am are enforced to ensure rest for all groups on campus.

  • Please use the scheduled meal times and activity blocks as anchor points for your programming. We are happy to provide sample schedules if you need a starting point.

    Remember, multiple groups may be on-site during your stay, so staying on schedule helps everyone succeed.
